With so many apps in the app market we are saturated with options. Some of them are terrible, some mediocre, and some are great. This is a list that doesn’t even get into that. This list is the “Must Have” apps. The Android apps that I personally couldn’t live without and that I believe every android user should check out.
Number 1 Must Have Android App in 2016 is:
The very first app you should install on your android phone before you install anything is Signal Messaging. If you can only download one app on your phone this is the one app EVERYONE should be using.
Using Signal, you can communicate instantly while avoiding SMS fees, create groups so that you can chat in real time with all your friends at once, and share media or attachments all with complete privacy. The server never has access to any of your communication and never stores any of your data.
This is the favorite app of Edward Snowden who has stated that the US Government does not have the ability to read messages sent via signal encrypted messaging. If Snowden says it is the only way to stay private then I’m using it. That man knows a thing or two about NSA surveillance, encryption, and cyber security.
If you think you know more than Snowden then you can check-it out for yourself. It is open source and you can find the source code here.
Every business needs a phone number. Actually, that isn’t true but every person conducting business needs a phone number unless they are operating some sketchy dark web shit. Sideline allows you to have a second phone number that can make and receive phone calls on your existing phone. Now you have a business line and a personal line in your pocket at all times!
You want to convey a sense of professionalism for your business and nothing says, “this is a start-up I’m running out of my studio apartment” like using your personal cell phone number. Especially when your personal cell phone number is likely going to have a cell phone area code or an out-of-town area code, which just kills your legitimacy.
PRIVACY- You don’t want to put your personal cell phone number all over the internet and hand it out to weirdo’s you meet in bars. Sideline allows you to keep your personal private. You can mute notifications during certain hours if you’d like so you won’t get business calls in the evening or on weekends.
This is an amazing free app that has made my life so much easier.
Powerful tool for managing multiple Twitter accounts or even just a single account if you want to be able to schedule posts and access some advance features.
Free VPN tool available in the google play store. It works to mask your IP. Has a good reputation compared to the many other so-called free VPN tools.
Great Google app for creating to-do lists, reminders, and jotting down notes.
Some may argue this is not a “must have” app but that is bullshit. You must have a weather widget that says FUCK constantly.
